NEVER try to observe the Sun through any optical instrument that has not been properly equipped with a special device for SAFE solar viewing. NEVER look at the Sun with the naked eye unless you look through a solar filter that is proven and specifically designed for such purposes. Even the briefest exposure to unfiltered sunlight can damage your sight permanently. In this activity it is sufficient that a single incident happens to bear irreparable damage to our sight: therefore, we must be cautious and never take anything for granted.
